LDT's Lymphedema/CDP Certification - Level 1 (LLCC1)
Lymphedema/CDP Certification – Level 1 (LLCC) completes the Lymphedema Certification process, which is designed to build awareness of lymphedema and ensure the quality of practitioners who provide manual lymphatic drainage therapy and CDP (Complex Decongestive Physiotherapy). The entire certification is a 140-hour program involving extensive study, written exams and hands-on testing. Synopsis
Perfect your bandaging skills as you learn to use new products to achieve the best results for lymphedema, lipedema and chronic venous insufficiency. This specialized program presents five days of bandaging/CDP coursework leading to Lymphedema/CDP Certification.
Course Highlights

Explore the purpose and proper use of short-stretch bandages, garments and sequential pumps in lymphedema.

Learn how to select the right product for the particular type of edema, and how to measure for a garment.

Learn bandaging applications for the upper and lower extremities.

Discover new products on the market, as well as the latest information on documentation and insurance reimbursement.

Take a 1-hour, 50-question objective written exam on topics of anatomy, physiology, lymphedema, safety, bandaging, laws and insurance forms.

Participate in four hours of hands-on testing that includes (1) at least the second lymphatic rhythm and mapping skills, and (2) simple bandaging for upper- and lower-extremity lymphedema.
Prerequisite
LDT3, and must be licensed or certified in the area they practice, e.g., state, for manual therapy on the whole body. An application is required prior to attendance. There is a charge of approximately $100 for the bandaging kit.
Upon registration, you will be asked to notify The Chikly Health Institute of any medical history including breast cancer, cancer, surgery involving lymph nodes, radiation or other condition which may limit your ability to participate in the bandaging activities of the class. This information will be provided to the instructor so that modifications to bandaging exercises can be considered, if appropriate for your circumstances.
LLCC1 Class Preparation
Coming into this program you should have already completed and passed a brief hands-on exam at your LDT2 or LDT3 class on at least the first and second lymphatic rhythm and mapping skills.
Also, completed and passed a 35-question objective written test based on the material in Dr. Chikly's two-tape video series Dissection of the Human Lymphatic System. (Please send completed tests to IAHE, 11211 Prosperity Farms Rd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410)

LDT's Lymphedema/CDP Certification - Level 2 (LLCC2)
The Lymph Drainage Therapy Techniques and Lymphedema/CDP Level 2 Certification Program signifies advanced skill in the application of lymph drainage therapy and complex decongestive physiotherapy (CDP) in the treatment of lymphedema and numerous other pathologies. This certification is a 170-hour program involving extensive study, written exams and hands-on testing. Our certification fulfills the requirements needed to sit for national certification testing with the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA).

Lymphedema/CDP Advanced Techniques & Recertification (LCAR)

Synopsis
This 2 1/2 day class is open to certified LLCC therapists to update knowledge and skills. Anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the lymphatic system will be reviewed and patients with complex medical problems will be discussed for problem solving and approaches to care.
LCAR Class Preparation
A presentation of two different case studies with mapping and photos (as applicable) is required at the class. Write-up specifications will be provided upon registration for the class. This class will also include a bandaging exam, required for LLCC recertification. Please remember to bring your bandaging materials or you may purchase a kit for approximately $100.
Please Note: LLCC recertification is required every three years. Recertification is earned by attending the Lymphedema/CDP Advanced Techniques & Recertification (LCAR) workshop or getting a one on one hands-on examination with a certified examiner, including an upper and lower extremity bandaging. For the one on one examination you will need to notify the CHI for availability, present 3 clinical cases and bring a live model to bandage (cost $325).
- History of the client- including medical and surgical history, How long have they had Lymphedema, psychosocial issues, any family dynamics influencing care etc
- Assessment – physical findings, Quality of edema, scars, radiation, etc, measurements, pictures before and after if possible.
- Plan of Care- How many treatments, include bandages, garment etc
- Patient education
- Outcomes- or discharge planning- How did client respond to therapy? Any follow-up or referral?
Therapists that do not have any large Lymphedema patients, can write up whomever they are treating with LDT and their plan of care and outcomes. Not all patients require to be bandaged; that is part of the assessment as to the interventions needed to treat the patient.
Lymph Drainage Therapy Techniques Certification (LTC)
The Lymph Drainage Therapy Techniques Certification Program signifies advanced skill in the application of lymph drainage therapy. This certification involves extensive study, written exams and hands-on testing. LTC is not a lymphedema certification program (see LLCC)

A 50-question objective written exam, which is administered at Lymph Drainage Therapy Advanced 1 (LDA1). If you did not take this test on the last day of the LDA1 class, you can make arrangements through the LDT Certification Coordinator to take it at a future date and location. Why wait? A practical hands-on exam that may include material from any or all of the previous LDT courses you have taken. This exam is scheduled on an individual basis with an approved examiner. Further information is provided upon completion of the objective exam.

Please Note: Recertification is required every three years, and may be earned by acting as a participant or as a teaching assistant in Lymph Drainage Therapy 2 or higher. Any portion of the testing process that needs to be re-taken may involve additional testing fees.
